STUDENT WELFARE SCHEMES

GYMKHANA: The College Gymkhana committee works on a mandate of helping to create well-groomed individuals out of students. To that end, the College has a state of the art Gymkhana and Gymnasium with modern exercise and sports facilities. M.L. Dahanukar College ranks among the top 10 Colleges in the University of Mumbai in sports.

COMPUTER LAB: Students of the College have free of cost access to a fully equipped internet enabled computer laboratory. The laboratory has a computer lab attendant and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The lab is regularly used by students for research and informational purposes helping them in their internal assignment and studies.

RESEARCH CELL: The College has a fully functional Research Cell that guides and inspires students to undertake research and also to write and present their research papers at various National and International Conferences. CANTEEN: Our College has an open-air hygienic canteen that offers food at nominal rates to students and Staff.

LANGUAGE LAB: Our College has a computer-based Language Laboratory on the third floor of the College building. Having a capacity of 25 mentees and a mentor console, the Language Lab software caters to the inculcation of learners’ English language, soft skills, and professional skills. The Audio-visual study material of the language lab is available for learners at Basic, Intermediary, Advanced and Professional level. The Language Lab also has basic level study material of Foreign Languages such as German and French.

COMMERCIAL LAB: The aim of Commercial Lab is to bridge the gap between academics and Corporate world. In order to achieve this, the Lab organizes various guest lectures, workshops, and educational trips.

INCUBATION CELL: Considering Indian Entrepreneurship Spirit and ideas, passion and enthusiasm for Young Indian Entrepreneur's to start businesses on their own, Incubation and Innovation Cell have following objectives  To identify, nurture and groom the business ideas of College students by providing them necessary mentoring, infrastructural and investment support.  To encourage entrepreneurship among students through conducting seminars, workshops, and competitions. So far Cell has successfully incubated Book Share India, a social startup which uses modern technology and innovation to facilitate book donation and sharing.

COLLEGE FESTIVAL (Kurukshetra): Students of ML Dahanukar College are encouraged to participate and organize intercollegiate festivals in areas of Music, Games, Sports, Culture, Co-Curricular.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT (LOCAL): Overall development of a student requires on-site practical experience. The College conducts annual Industrial Visit to fulfill that objective. Our regular visits to the industries located at several venues including RBI, NSE, BSE, NSDL, Times of India, Vividh Bharti, MTNL, Traffic Head Quarters, etc.

STUDENT COUNSELLING: The College has free counseling facility for Bonafide students of all streams by Dr. Manasi Bhat. The Counseling is available on Thursday from 9.00 am. to 1.00 pm. STUDENTS’ COUNCIL As per the directions of the “Vice-Chancellor of University of Mumbai, issued in accordance to the Maharashtra Universities Act 1994, the Students’ Council is formed in August/September each year. The members of the Students’ Council take an active part in organizing co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for the students of the College throughout the year.

STUDENT AID FUND: The College has in place Student Aid Fund for the benefit of economically weaker students. Students can apply to the College Office at the beginning of the academic year with the necessary documents.

THE COLLEGE MAGAZINE: College Magazine is published annually in the month of March. There are sections in the Magazine for English, Marathi, and Hindi literature composed by the students and staff of the College.

CO-OPERATIVE STORES: The College has a co-operative store which supplies various stationery items like books and other related useful services to the students. This is basically run by the students and it provides good opportunities for the students to gain experience in carrying out purchase and sales, maintaining accounts, carrying out banking transactions and providing service to students.
